Jorge Egocheaga Rodríguez, MOUNTAIN CLIMBER FROM OVIEDO. HE HAS A DEGREE IN MEDICINE BY THE UNIVERSIDAD DE OVIEDO, WHERE HE IS A TEACHER, SPECIALISED IN SPORTS MEDICINE. HAVING CONQUERED EIGHT-THOUSANDERS TWELVE TIMES, HE IS ALSO THE FIRST ASTURIAN CLIMBER TO REACH THE TOP OF MOUNT EVEREST. HE TOOK PART IN THE “AL FILO DE LO IMPOSIBLE” (NATIONAL DOCUMENTARY TV SHOW) EXPEDITION TO THE KANCHENJUNGA, THE THIRD HIGHEST PEAK OF THE WORLD. HE WROTE “OCHO CUMBRES PARA UN SUEÑO” (EIGTH PEAKS FOR A DREAM), BOOK THAT TELLS EGOCHEAGA’S EXPERIENCES IN EIGHT MOUNTAINS AROUND THE WORLD.
Throughout my passionate life as a mountaineer I have been able to soak up unique and varied landscapes, in all the continents of this planet we inhabit. I have been able to enjoy magical moments, extraordinary conditions reflected in incredible sunrises, harmonious lights, embraces of the sun in its setting...however, I always come back to Asturias. Despite all that I have seen and experienced, I have never, until now, I have never come across a place like this. Asturias is magical, special, different, unique, an authentic natural paradise that does not remain in promises derived from marketing campaigns. For this reason, passions of native land apart, I can only recommend to everyone to visit this special land with my good friend José, and I can assure you that no one will ever be disappointed.
